The Bridge Inn, West Lavington
A friendly country pub with good food; real ales and a cosy, comfortable bar.
Always deservedly busy – it is best to book a table if you wish to eat – this is a quaint traditional pub.
A mix of contemporary features with those more traditional such as the constantly lit inglenook fire
place. Upon the cream walls and wooden beams, the pub is decorated with historic local pictures of
The Lavingtons, with fresh flowers on the tables, and candles in the evenings. The ales change
regularly; but Wadworth’s Henry’s IPA is a firm favourite with the locals. There is an extensive wine
list; and 9 wines are offered by the glass. A large lawn to the rear makes a pleasant place to spend
a summer afternoon.
Extremely good British food is served Tuesday to Sunday. The menu is constantly changing to remain
seasonal and fresh. There is a full a la carte menu to include dishes such as home cured salmon,
haunch of venison, Roast Creedy duck breast, and whole lemon sole. All food is homemade and made
freshly to order. At lunch, a selection of ciabattas are available and from Tuesday to Friday a set menu
is also offered (2 courses for £12.50, 3 for £15.00). A traditional roast is offered as well as the a la
carte on a Sunday.
